Interpretation 1

Abstract

Interpreting 1 is a compulsory course offered in the fifth semester, classified under the Specialized Knowledge component of the Professional Education Curriculum. The course is designed to help students develop, refine, and flexibly apply consecutive interpreting skills (without notes) from English into Vietnamese. Key skills include active listening, deep comprehension, idea identification, clear and coherent delivery, and ensuring that interpretations are accurate, complete, objective, and persuasive.

Course materials include interviews, speeches, presentations, talks, and lectures covering common communication topics such as education, exams, personal development, life skills, food and health, technology, environment, tourism, and culture. Instructors are encouraged to supplement these with additional appropriate materials for practice.
